KickOff. Is the worst movie about gay soccer the best movie about gay soccer?

KickOff (2010) is a movie about a newly formed Gay 5 a-side soccer team in a London recreational league who have to play against the toughest, roughest and most violent team in the league. A team that has already been threatened with expulsion from the league because of their violent play. When the team of Gay players hear who they are going to be playing against, they decide to try to hide the fact that they are a gay team, which is easier said than done with their camp and flamboyant actions, and when the team is just wearing tight fitting fuchsia shorts as their kit.

When I first started watching I almost turned the movie off because the acting was so bad, and because some of the characters were just downright annoying, but I was then surprised how I was drawn into the movie and how the characters from both teams actually grew on me. As the game progresses the players personalities come through and aspects of their private lives are mingled into the storyline, which adds a little more interest than just a game of soccer. The movie can be really silly at times and badly acted, but it also has some genuine laugh out load moments too. If you're stuck for a movie to watch I say give it a go. If you're in the USA it's on Free Hulu.
